I’ve been using Paula’s Choice skin perfecting 2% BHA liquid for a couple of months now, but always in and out of routines when I feel my skin needs a little more radiance or when I’ve noticed some visibly enlarged pores.
But first, for those who are not aware of the brand; Paula’s Choice is a range of skincare products formulated by skincare expert Paula Begoun. The range of products have been proven effective for wrinkles, acne, rosacea, sensitive skin, oily skin; and have been developed targeting skin type and concerns.

I started using this twice daily when I saw an increase in whiteheads and slight roughness in texture around my jaw, It’s a clear liquid that I normally apply after my toner and vitamin c serums.
On immediate application it’s very well absorbed and instantly creates a radiant even-toned skin that looks bright, healthy and on the glow side but over the course of the day it is quite drying so I like to use a hyaluronic acid serum over this to keep hydrated.
Now the great thing about this product for me is the fact that it worked over the course of a week when I used it day & night on reducing the unwelcomed whiteheads and helping to diminish the look of enlarged pores creating a smooth & clear texture. I loved using it during the day as I loved the glow it gave when applied to the skin (minus the dryness & tightness that ensued over the course of the day) and also the long term benefit of helping to reduce enlarged pores as well as building collagen and helping with even skin tone.
I would recommend this for those with oily/combination skin who are battling with blackheads, acne-prone spots, skin roughness and clogged pores. It provides an instant radiance whilst also working at cellular level to help with skin concerns. Salicylic acid is an ingredient that you should incorporate into your routine (if you haven’t already) if your skin type is oily/combination. This is a great way to start as it is a leave-on product, its not harsh on the skin and causes no irritation.
You can purchase this online at Paula’s Choice – 118ml/£25 or try the trial size 30ml/£8. A little goes a long way so a 30ml trial size will last for about 3 months which is long enough to put a product on trial and review.
